German for au pairs and childcare
The au pair visa for Germany requires basic German — normally A1 from a recognised test centre — before the embassy will issue it. It is the first certificate most au pairs ever sit, often in a language they have studied for only a few months, which makes exam familiarity worth more than extra vocabulary.
