German Language Practice exists because preparing for a Goethe or telc exam shouldn't mean expensive courses and a hopeless search for realistic listening material. We build complete, exam-identical mock tests with real audio — for A1, A2, B1 and B2 — that you sit online, on the official clock, and that are scored the moment you submit.
Why we started
Like many people moving to or settling in Germany, we needed a language certificate — for work, for residence, for citizenship. What we found was a market of expensive preparation courses, scattered PDFs of questionable quality, and almost no way to practice the listening section under real conditions.
So we built what we wished we'd had: full mock exams that mirror the official Goethe and telc model tests page for page, with complete Hörverstehen audio, scoring the moment you submit, and guidance for the DTZ (Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer) path taken by integration-course candidates.
Today they are used by self-learners, integration-course students, and candidates preparing for German citizenship across Germany and abroad. The first section of the first mock at every level is free, and we publish a DTZ certification guide with official BAMF links.
How we make our materials
Exam-identical format
Every mock is modelled on the official Goethe-Institut and telc Modellsätze — the same sections, question types, timing and difficulty you will face on exam day, and the clock runs the way theirs does.
Listening practice first
Hörverstehen is the section candidates fail most, and realistic audio is the hardest material to find. Every mock plays audio recorded at native pace, right next to the paper.
A score, not a guess
Submit and the paper is marked immediately, section by section, with your written answer graded against the official criteria for the level. One mock at every level is free.
